Today it's time to talk about your calves ๐Ÿ‘‰

Your calves may feel tight for a number of different reasons. The calf is made up of two muscles : the gastrocnemius (medial & lateral head) and the soleus. These muscles are taxed on a daily basis by walking from place to place or participating in strenuous exercise.

Tightness or pain in the calves isย oftenย the result of overuse. ๐Ÿ”ฅ๐Ÿ”ฅ


Marathon runners, triathletes, and older individuals who do lots of strenuous exercises may be atย higher riskย of developing tight calves or evenย muscle cramps.

These muscles are the main sources of power for the motion of the ankle. The fascia of these two muscles comes together to form the Achilles tendon at the back of our ankle.

Do you remember about our video with the plantar fascia? Well, you should know that :
"The achilles tendons also attaches to the plantar fascia. If the calf muscles that attach to the achilles tendon are tight, the ankle becomes less flexible, and the plantar fascia also tightens. Frequently, the pain is notice after getting up in the morning or after standing after long periods of sitting "
