Dr. Thompson holds Nova Scotia Provincial and Canadian National Board Examinations and is a member of the Irish Chiropractic Association and European Chiropractic Association.

Dr. Thompson started her chiropractic career in Halifax, Nova Scotia, Canada, where she worked for two years (1999-2001) with Dr. Brian Seaman. She established and built a second practice within his existing clinic as the first associate to join his clinic.

In July 2001 Heather travelled to Ennis where she joined Advanced Chiropractic Clinic. Dr. Thompson has been providing top quality spinal and neurological health care to the Clare community since 2001. The clinic moved to its current location of 3 St. Flannan's Ave, Clarecastle (across from the Clarecastle Chemist) in 2013 and is a warm and inviting space for our patients of every age.

Heather has a passion for sports and applying chiropractic to sports injuries. She has a strong background in sports, both as an athlete and treating athletes. She was a competitive swimmer at provincial levels in Canada and continued to swim on various Masters Swim Teams. She was also involved in very competitive basketball and volleyball in University. Dr. Thompson even became involved in Gaelic Football here in Clare, as a member of the Fergus Rovers and as the Chiropractor for the Clare Ladies Football Team in 2002-2003. Heather was also a member of the Shannon Phoenix Basketball team. She has also been very active in the Clarecastle GAA Club as medical advisor for the Clarecastle Senior Hurling Team over the years, both on the sideline and in the clinic.

Heather is also very passionate about the benefits of chiropractic care in children and pregnant women. As a mother of three boys, she is very in tune with these patients needs. This is an area that is very under utilized in Ireland and she is keen on providing excellent screening and care for both children and expecting moms.
